Jillian's Big Birthday Celebration Blog Hop June 12, 2011 ~ Day 3

Welcome back for the third day of Jillian's Big Birthday Celebration Blog Hop!  Just two more days and Jillian will be 12 years old!  Seems like just yesterday she was born ~ yes 6/14/1999 at 14:53 weighing 6 lbs. 14 oz.  We have decided 6 and 14 are her lucky numbers!  (had a c-section and 14 staples too!  But that might be Too Much Infomation!)

Ok, this is an interesting project ~ lets just say UNFINISHED Project!  All the paper used in this design is Kraft paper.  I wanted to show what Tim Holtz Distress Inks can do ~ with a little Adirondack Snow Cap added in to change the color of just plain ole Kraft!  I love the how muted it came out.

I used Mother's Day Bouquet  cartridge for the Circle.   The cupcake is from Simply Charmed.  I Cuttlebugged the "icing" with Divine Swirl after inking with Snow Cap Adirondack Ink, it was also used on the highlight of the Cherry.  Then used Spun Sugar Distress Ink on the swirls.  Barn Door Distress Ink was used on the cheeks and Cherry.  Black Soot Distress Ink was used on the first layer to create the eyes and mouth in Black then I went over that with Jelly Roll Black Glaze Pen.  Dusty Concord was used on the bottom layer of the cupcake wrapper and Broken China on the top layer of the wrapper.  Also Pine Needles and Black Soot was used on the stem.

The Sentiment "You Take the Cake" is from the Charming Whimsies Stamp set by A Jillian Vance Design.  I did not measure to make sure they would fit, I just "got lucky"!  I did bend the stamp as I applied it to the clear block so that it would fit the curve of the circle.
I topped it off with Perfect Pearls Mist in Perfect Pearl!

Then I was going to put it on a Gift bag but it kind of blended in so I decided to gain an entry to win the stamp set I am giving away, you will have to leave a comment as to what YOU would do with this circle!

So to enter to win Birthday Blessings Stamp Set from a jillian vance design

The circle looks finished to me. I think I would leave it just as it is? I love the swirls on the cup cake! Lovely embossing!

Very cute cupcake! I love that you used kraft cardstock for this. It gives an entirely different appearance to the project than white or colored cardstocks would have. Thanks for sharing!

This is sooo cute, Bunny. I love the Cuttlebugged icing. I also like the great tip for bending the stamp to fit the curve of the circle.

I would put your circle on the round lid of a jar candle which is scented a cake flavor like German Chocolate. It would make a darling gift.

Doesn't it seem hard to believe how fast the time passes after our babies are born? I'd like to send Jillian a birthday card. Can I get your address?

How about a clean paint can with birthday goodies in or things to make cupcakes and the circle can go on the lid? Make a circle scalloped card and put this on the middle? I think it is adorable. Thanks for sharing. I of course have liked Jillians facebook page and follow both of your blogs

Very cute cupcake! I love the little face. I think it looks fine just like it is....it looks like a plate with a cupcake on it. I may leave the circle just as is or maybe do one of those doily cards and put it in the middle. Not sure really unless I tried it for myself to see if I would like it.

I might mat it on a printed paper and use it as a tag on a bday bag. TFS joy4umetoo at hotmail dot com

This is such an adorable project!! The embossing on the icing is precious and I just love the little face! I would create lots of birthday cards for my church family with these stamps.
