Paper Dolls ~ Challenge Week 5 - Stamps!

This weeks challenge was using stamps.  So I had gotten this darling owl from KaDoodle Bug Designs last week and decided to use him for my card.  I used various paper from my scrap pile and the stamp is from Owl So Cute by A Jillian Vance Design which can be ordered here.  I used Divine Twine in Airmail for the "sparkler" which added a cute, 3D effect!  It can be found on Jillian's web site here.

So after looking at this card, I should have used the "Stars" background stamp from A Jillian Vance Design in Snow Cap Adirondack, that would have been a nice touch.  But it is after 11 pm here and I guess I just wasn't thinking!!!  Hope you enjoyed my card!  I plan on giving it to our host for the Fireworks Party we were invited to on the 4th!
Have a Blessed Independence Day!

Link Up Love Party with K Andrew.

This Link Up Love Party  sponsored by K Andrew is a  great way to find new blogs, share your blog, and get inspiration from one another.
One of the rules is to post your favorite project that you've done in your blog post WITH ONE thing you are grateful for!
Here is my project:  and I am so thankful I have a wonderful hubby that has blessed me with Beautiful Jillian who has a love for crafting too!  A family who prays together stays together and a family who crafts together has more FUN!!!

Jillian's Big Birthday Celebration Blog Hop June 10, 2011 ~ Day 1

Hi and Welcome to Jillian's Big Birthday Celebration Blog Hop.  This is to celebrate my baby's birthday!  She will be 12!!!  Hard to believe!  she is almost taller than I and started her own Greeting Card business at 10 then her own stamp line at 11 ~ what will 12 bring ? ? ?
For my first project, I did a tag.  Her birthday and dance recital normally fall on the same weekend!  So here is a tag I will give to her tomorrow, June 11th after the dance recital ~ yes then we go shopping and she picks out something for doing such a great job and looking so beautiful on stage!  I am not a proud momma am I!
First I took an Inkssentials #8 Tag Distressed it with Victorian Velvet and Dusty Concord then used our Tiny Dots background stamp (by A Jillian Vance Design) inked with Dusty Concord.

The Flower is from the Mother's Day Bouquet Cartridge and I had an old Hymnal that I glued a page to Clearly for Art Modeling Film by Studio 490, Wendy Veechi.  This stuff is so cool and the Cricut cut it just fine ~ I did a multi cut on a #5 setting on the blade)!  When you heat it up you can shape and form it after it cools, then if you don't like it heat it again and it can be reshaped.  It is distressed with Victorian Velvet.

I used Olive Archival Ink by Ranger for the stem of the flower (a fun, cheap stamp from Pat Catan's).
The center of the flower is a button punched from Kraft paper and distressed with Dusty Concord.

Hand dyed seam binding with both Dusty Concord and Victoian Velvet with a little Perfect Pearls Mist in Perfect Pearl ~ tied in a knot and added one of our new "Pear Pins" is pinned thru the center, which adds a perfect touch!.
(Pear Pins are coming to www.ajillianvancedesign.com soon ~ we can't wait!!!)
I stamped In the Spotlight  and Dance Recital from On Broadway by A Jillian Vance Design and Birthday Blessings from Birthday Blessings by A Jillian Vance Design all in Deep Purple Archival Ink by Ranger.  Added the film strip from the Tim Holtz die to give it some stage appeal!

*Link Up Party runs from Tuesday 6/21 to Tuesday 6/28. Winners announced 6/29
*Grab my blinkie and post on your blog's sidebar
*Be a follower of this blog
*Create a new blog post that is titled Link Up Love Party with K Andrew. In your post, you must mention that the link up love party is a way to get to know each other and find new blog inspiration, mention my blog, with a link back to my blog .
*Post your favorite project that you've done in your blog post WITH ONE thing you are grateful for!
*Copy and paste the link up code into your blog post so the Inlinkz will show up on your blog

Take a Hike . . . Tommy Fundraiser

Jillian is hosting a fundraiser for one of her 6th grade school teachers and fellow scrapbooker!  She is having MAJOR surgery in July at John Hopkins in Baltimore ~ that is more than 8 hours from her home.  There will be an extended stay for her and her family, up to 21 days which is a lot of hotel and food costs.
So Jillian wanted to help them out as she has been so good to her during the past school year.
So she will be donating 20%, YES 20% of all sales to her and her family for meals and travel expenses.
That is on STAMPS ~ Pre-Orders too,  PINK BLOCKS, DIVINE TWINE, PEAR PINS and RANGER PRODUCTS!!!
Everything on my website sold 20% will go to Take a Hike . . . Tommy.
She named her tumor Tommy!  Check out her wonderful Blog ~ Haven 4 Hope

She is an inspiration to all of us!!!

So please Support Mrs. Dunn and her medical journey.

Blessings,
Bunny

Thanks a MELON Card ~ Thank You Link Up Party Hosted by Deanne's Creative Juice

Welcome to Deanne's THANK YOU! link up party!  Check her out over at: http://deannescreativejuice.blogspot.com/

Here is my project for the Linky party!
It is a Thank You Card ~ Thanks a Melon!

I used some lime green card stock for the card cut at 5 x 8 1/2 and folded in half.
Added some digital paper I had printed out and now can't find the file to print again or give THANKS to who I got it from, but I do love SheryK Designs and thought that is where I had found it.
Cut the watermelon out at 2 1/2 from Simply Charmed and used a Peachy Keen Princess face for the face instead of the one on the cartridge.  I actually cut the second layer in red for the face instead of cutting it in black like you are supposed to to create the face.
Thanks a Melon stamp is from Charming Whimsies by  A Jillian Vance Design and can be purchased here.
Wired Black Polka Dot ribbon is from Hobby Lobby floral department.  The Pear Pin is from A Jillian Vance Design and can be purchased here.  Aren't they just the cutest things!!!  To add a little Bling to your projects.  They come in Black, Silver and Antique Brass.  The charm is one I had in my stash. A Jillian Vance Design will be getting charms soon to coordinate with her stamp sets and go with the Pear Pins!!!

Thanks for checking out my project today, please leave a comment ~ love to hear what you have to say!!!
Blessings,
Bunny

iPad 2 Cases

Hi,
Well this weekend I felt like sewing!  So with Jillian getting her iPad for her Birthday, she needed a case. So after looking around I decided to make her one ~ she did get a smart cover but it doesn't protect from bumping around.
So I took the Snap Happy pattern by Stitching Sisters and revised it.  I love the technique of the closure ~ an old measuring tape!  Yes that is right to get the "snap" you cut up an old tape measure ~ be sure and lock it or you will have it ALL OVER THE PLACE!!!  Ask me how I know!
So I wanted a pocket on the front so I used Lazy Girl Designs Perfect Pouches pattern.  These can be made without batting to be a pocket on something else.  I also only sewed around the 3 sides to leave the top open to side other items in.
I then embroidered iJillian and iBunny on the pouches before stitching them together.
This was a fun, quick project!

Bunny's iPad case in the horizontal style.
Jillian's iPad case in the vertical style
Jillian normally carries her iPod everywhere so I added the zippered pocket

Perfect pouch used as a pocket open at the top in addition to the zippered one.

Father's Day Card

Hi,
Yesterday I came across this darling card idea!  Then to find out it was a free file ~ icing on the cake!  Here is where I found it: LifeStyle Crafts Blog http://lifestylecrafts.com/blog/printable   They show some darling ideas!
Plus it is available in PDF in case you don't have MTC or SCAL!
So here is my card:

I found this paper in my stash!   I used the svg file from the blog listed above and cut with Make The Cut.  I added the Best Grandpa in the World stamp from Celebrate Dad by A Jillian Vance Design.
On the inside is a sentiment from that same stamp set.  Just a simple but cute card!

Thanks and have fun making your card too!
Blessings,
Bunny

Fight Like a Girl Tag!

Well since our Relay for Life is this weekend, I wanted to make a tag in honor of all the participants!
So here it is . . .
I distressed the tag in Worn Lipstick and Dusty Concord (Tim Holtz Distress Ink) then stamped the tree from God's Art Stamp Set by A Jillian Vance Design.  The Ribbons also from God's Art in Magenta Hue Archival Ink from Ranger.  Also stamped the Fight like a Girl in Magenta Hue and it is from Have Faith Stamp Set by A Jillian Vance Design.
I used hand dyed seam binding in worn lipstick and Perfect Pearls Mist in Perfect Pearl then the new A Jillian Vance Design Pear Pin found here to pin the charm onto the ribbon!
Even though I made this myself, I have to say I LOVE IT!!!

Just a little secret  A Jillian Vance Design
is looking into carrying Charms to go with her stamp sets!!!  How fun is that!!!  And the Pear Pins are in stock and shipping!!!

Thanks for stopping and leave me a comment!!

This is an awesome creation! I'm going to have to try some of those techniques. I'm guessing Jillian might like some scrapbooking supplies. Maybe an Imagine or other Cricut Machine? They sure are fun and the price has gone down sooooo far. I paid like $500 for my Imagine and now you can get one for $200!!! (Even less on ebay) Whatever she wants, I hope she gets it! :0) Thanks for the chance to win some stamps! XO ~ Amy Jo (follower) amyjrockstar at gmail dot com http://lv2scrapandfibrofacts.blogspot.com/

Congratulations Amy, please email me with your mailing address!!!
Amy you are right about the Imagine!!  I almost did purchase her one but then had second thoughts so I didn't as she has been inking tags more than cutting with the Cricut right now and I knew how much she wanted an iPad2.
Thanks again to everyone for participating!  Hope you all had fun!

Jillian's Big Birthday Celebration Blog Hop June 13, 2011 ~ Day 4, Last Day

Welcome back for the fourth and final day of Jillian's Big Birthday Celebration Blog Hop!  Just think tomorrow, Jillian will be 12 years old!

This project was made with Vintage Paper Rosettes SVG Kit
from SVGCuts.com
I love how this turned out.  This too is ALL Kraft paper, just inked with Tim Holtz Distress Inks by Ranger!!!

The Rosette which was cut to the size in the instructions, was inked in Barn Door as well as the center red circle.  I also used Chipped Sapphire around the edges of both of them as well as for the scalloped circle behind the red one.  The star is Mustard Seed with a little Chipped Sapphire around the edges.  The banner I used old paper which is a little darker than the original color of the Kraft paper.  then used a tad of Chipped Sapphire around the edges.  Happy Birthday (from Celebrate Men by A Jillan Vance Design) was stamped in Black Archival Ink by Ranger.
I sprayed the entire project after it was put together, with Perfect Pearls Mist in Sparkling Sunflower.

My niece said it looked like it was made out of metal ~ and in person it really does!  Thanks for hopping with us!!!

Jillian's Big Birthday Celebration Blog Hop June 12, 2011 ~ Day 3

Welcome back for the third day of Jillian's Big Birthday Celebration Blog Hop!  Just two more days and Jillian will be 12 years old!  Seems like just yesterday she was born ~ yes 6/14/1999 at 14:53 weighing 6 lbs. 14 oz.  We have decided 6 and 14 are her lucky numbers!  (had a c-section and 14 staples too!  But that might be Too Much Infomation!)

Ok, this is an interesting project ~ lets just say UNFINISHED Project!  All the paper used in this design is Kraft paper.  I wanted to show what Tim Holtz Distress Inks can do ~ with a little Adirondack Snow Cap added in to change the color of just plain ole Kraft!  I love the how muted it came out.

I used Mother's Day Bouquet  cartridge for the Circle.   The cupcake is from Simply Charmed.  I Cuttlebugged the "icing" with Divine Swirl after inking with Snow Cap Adirondack Ink, it was also used on the highlight of the Cherry.  Then used Spun Sugar Distress Ink on the swirls.  Barn Door Distress Ink was used on the cheeks and Cherry.  Black Soot Distress Ink was used on the first layer to create the eyes and mouth in Black then I went over that with Jelly Roll Black Glaze Pen.  Dusty Concord was used on the bottom layer of the cupcake wrapper and Broken China on the top layer of the wrapper.  Also Pine Needles and Black Soot was used on the stem.

The Sentiment "You Take the Cake" is from the Charming Whimsies Stamp set by A Jillian Vance Design.  I did not measure to make sure they would fit, I just "got lucky"!  I did bend the stamp as I applied it to the clear block so that it would fit the curve of the circle.
I topped it off with Perfect Pearls Mist in Perfect Pearl!

Then I was going to put it on a Gift bag but it kind of blended in so I decided to gain an entry to win the stamp set I am giving away, you will have to leave a comment as to what YOU would do with this circle!

SPLASH INTO SUMMER! Paper Dolls Link Party ~ Challenge #2

Hi,
This is my entry in PaperDolls second Link Party.  The theme ~ Splash into Summer!

For this challenge, we had to use an SVG file and I found this darling Bobber Card (a while back and had snagged the file) at
Vicki did a great job with this darling card and I am so happy I remembered it!
I cut it at 6 inches with Make The Cut.  The card is a midnight blue with tiny white specks, I then used red and white for the bobber.  I used Distress Ink in Old paper on the white part and then edged it in Black Soot, I distressed the red with Black Soot also.
The stamp is from Make A Splash set by A Jillian Vance Design
I used Divine Twine in Airmail which you can purchase at www.ajillianvancedesign.com

I think it turned out so cute!  Thank you to Vicki for sharing your file and to Paper Dolls for hosting this challenge!
