EYE ~ Candy

Wow two posts in one day!  And no, we are still busy, busy but I had to have some time to relax in the craft room!

Here is my EYE Candy Tag.  I  cut the candy wrappers from the Very Merry Tag solutions cartridge at 1 1/2 inches on the shadow key.  I used the Eye on Halloween Stamp Set by A Jillian Vance Design found here http://www.ajillianvancedesign.com/New-Stamps.html. to do the eyeball layer stamp.  Then made the eyeball look real by using the Epiphany Crafts Shape Tool and accessory Round 25 bubble, which you can order here.
The tag was cut from Preserves at 5 inches, black was cut 3 3/4" x 2 3/4" and then rounded the corners.  Eye Candy was attached with brads and Trick or Treat was stamped in Snow Cap Adirondack Ink by Ranger.

I've got my "Eye" on You Tag

Hi Guys,
I was in the mood for Halloween and since Deanne over at http://deannescreativejuice.blogspot.com/
is having a Halloween in August party, I thought I would do a post!
So here is the new Eye on Halloween stamp set from A Jillian Vance design found here.
I used the Eyeball layer stamp which works perfectly with the Epiphany Crafts Round 25 shape tool and Accessory bubble.  Makes it look like a REAL eyeball!

The tag was cut at 5 inches from the Preserves Cartridge, black background at 3 3/4" by 2 3/4" then the corners rounded.  Used the Mother's Day Bouquet cartridge to cut the scalloped circles at 2" and 1 1/2".  added the eyeball and also black/white polka dot ribbon and A Jillian Vance Design Pear Pin in Black found here with a charm from my stash.

Please leave me a comment, I love to hear from you!!!

Paper Dolls Guest Designers July 25, 2011

I am Bunny, Jillian ~ The Princess and the Paper’s Mom.  I have always loved crafting from a young age, my love is sewing, I own two embroidery machines, a regular sewing machine (Jillian’s) and a serger!  I love making purses.

So when Jillian approached me that she wanted a business to buy an iPod, I bought her a Cricut to make cards with as my cousin had one and loved it.  Well, should have purchased the iPod ~ LOL!  Now we have thousands invested in our new craft and hobby!  In addition to her card business which was thriving, she needed sentiments she couldn’t find so she decided to create her own line of stamps this past January at age 11!  So the rest is history!

She now owns A Jillian Vance Design and I am her business manager!  We just returned from CHA and it was so fun having people come up to me and ask if I was Jillian’s mom.  And I introduced myself, Bunny Vance, to Jinger Adams and she said “Oh, you must be Jillian’s mom, I keep an eye on her on Facebook!”  Oh my land, Jillian at 12 years old is famous!
So we are thrilled to be Guest Designers for Paper Dolls:  See their Blog here: http://paperdollsblog.typepad.com/main/  Tamara's Blog here: http://happylifecraftywife.typepad.com and Thienly's Blog here:  http://modpaperie.blogspot.com/.  We look up to these two fantastically creative gals and then to have THEM ask US ~ Wow!  What a great feeling!  We waited til after CHA to do this project but we had in mind what we wanted to do before we left home.  The theme for our county   4-H booth is “4-H, It’s a Green Thing”.  So we will be adding this to our booth at the fair so we decided a Topiary out of recycled Kraft paper was in order!!!

Jillian and I made this a team project!  We have cut the wonderful SVG files out of Kraft paper at various sizes:  3.75 and 4.75 inches for the scalloped edge flower
3.0 and 3.5 inches for the carnation
2.5 and 3.75 inches for the smooth edge flower
We wanted a mixture of larger and smaller flowers.

Then Jillian used Tim Holtz Distress Inks to ink them to the colors we wanted: the Golden ones are Spice Marmalade, Pink ones are the NEW Distress Stain in Picket Fence (it is a pigment based stain and is more opaque to give you a brighter color) under Worn Lipstick and the Purple flowers are Distress Stain in Picket Fence with Dusty Concord on top.  Jillian used Forest Moss Distress Stain for the leaves!  So wish we had the other colors in Stain, it is so quick to apply! Gives them all a very vintage shaded look!  LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the new Picket Fence Distress Stain!

Then we used corsage pins with tear drop pearls to pin through the base of the flower and leaf (cut from a random cartridge) added some hand dyed by Jillian seam binding to give the softness and flair it needed!  By accident, I wound the ribbon around a Jelly Roll pen to dry it as otherwise I burn my fingers!  That is what gave it the bouncy curly look! The butterfly was cut from Home Accents Cricut cartridge and of course “everything is better with Stickles!!!” according to Jillian.  The tin bucket came from IKEA.

Summer Birthday in Paris

I needed a birthday gift for a gal that is an artist (did the tree in God's Art stamp set by A Jillian Vance Design)
She got to go to Paris for her birthday!  So when I saw this on Faith's blog during the Young Crafter's Blog Hop, I had to make it for Melinda!
So here is where I found it:
 Faith Abigail Design: http://www.faithabigaildesigns.com/2011/05/eiffel-tower-3d-project.html

I too cut mine at 8 1/2 for the Eiffel tower and 2 1/4, 2 and 1 3/4 for the flowers from Mother's Day Bouquet and 1 3/4 for the butterfly off of Home Accents.  After carefully assembling them all.  I added button brads to the centers of the flowers and silver Stickles to the centers of the butterflies.   I used Licorice Divine Twine on my flag at the top.  I also sprayed the entire project with Perfect Pearls Mist in Perfect Pearl.

Leave me a comment and let me know what you think!
Blessings,
Bunny

Young Crafters Unite! Our Favorite Things Blog Hop ~ July 1st, 2011

youngcraftersunite.com
I am honored to be in the Young Crafters Unite!  Our Favorite Things Blog Hop.

For my project, I have used one of my favorite things a new stamp set from A Jillian Vance Design called "I am my Hair"available for pre-order here
She is my favorite thing for two reasons, she is part of my salon Logo and one of Jillian's new stamp sets!  Just a got to love her ~ very classy lady!
I inked the tag using Tim Holtz Distress Inks Crushed Olive, Worn Lipstick and Faded Jeans, then stamped the Bunny Girl and sentiment in Library Green Archival Ink.  For the stitching at the top ( because my favorite craft was sewing all my life!!!) I used the one of Jillian's new stamps from "More Stitches" found for pre-order here.  I used the Crushed Olive for the stitches.  So here is my project at that point.
Cute but kind of plain with no "pop" to it!  So then I added this:
the little Kraft flower inked in Worn Lipstick and Faded Jeans with a dab of Gold Adirondack Dabber used on it and a tiny button brad and the hand dyed ribbon with Crushed Olive, Worn Lipstick and Faded Jeans all mushed together with Perfect Pearls Mist in Perfect Pearls (another favorite of mine) tied at the top.  Then the Pear Pin in Black from A Jillian Vance Design, you can order them here.  And a little Black Bling from our stash!

Then it still needed something so I added some more hand dyed ribbon behind the flower and sprayed Perfect Pearls Mist in Sparkling Sunflower to finish it off perfectly!

I consider myself a young paper crafter as I just started in 2010 after my daugher Jillian inspired me!  I started sewing  before I could reach the pedal of the sewing machine, I would sit on my mom's lap and sew, while she ran the pedal!  Everyone had a little bag and eyeglass case with their initial zig zagged on it!
Thanks for visiting now head on over to Cathy @
to see what they have created!

Blessings,
Bunny
