Stitches and More Stitches Card

Family is a Patchwork of Love!

I used a 12 x 12 piece of burgundy cardstock cut in half and scored at 6 inches ~ I am loving these larger cards ~ more space for my stuff!!! Then layered a piece of Kraft paper over that.

I used Jillibean Soup Sweet and Sour Soup paper and cut with the Lacey Squares by Spellbinders.
The center paper if from K & Company paper stack I have had for awhile, but coorinated great with the Jillibean Soup paper.

The center sentiment was stamped on a Spellbinder Ribbon Tags Trio Two die,  then I cut the paper strip to fit in.  The stitches stamps were inked with Coffee Archival ink and then stamp to make it looks like a quilted card.

The sentiment on this card is from the Stitches Stamp Set and the "
stitches are from the More Stitches Stamp Set and is also on the Stitches set, both are found HERE

Witchy Poo Tag

Witchy Poo Tag
Here is my Witchy Poo tag, it is a Ranger tag that was a blooper so I covered it with black card stock, used my Crop a Dile to put the hole in top.  I used Echo Park the Apothecary Emporium 6 x 6
paper stack.  I cut the black and white from the largest Large Labels Spellbinders Die and the Orange diamond out of the second largest one.  I then used the Grommet tag for the grid and the poem.
These stamps can be found HERE and are on sale for $12.50 a set!

Harvest Blessings Card

Harvest Blessings

Using the Notebook background stamp and the Autumn Leaves set found HERE, I wanted this card to be unique so then I added the 3-D pumpkin!
The card was cut using the Grand Nestibilities Labels One die from Spellbinders.  If you fold your card stock in half and then place the die over the fold a bit, it will cut your shape and leave your fold so you have a beautifully shaped card.
I then cut with the smaller Grand Nestibilities Labels One die the printed paper for the layer and then the cream card stock was cut with a Labels Eight Spellbinders die.  This is also a favorite of mine right behind the Labels One!  I inked it with the new Gather Twig Distress Ink and stamped the Notebook Background stamp with Coffee Archival Ink.
Then used Library Green Archival ink for the sentiments.
Then I punched out 4  ~ 1 1/2 inch circles with my punch, scored them in the middle, distressed them with Gathered Twigs and glued them together to make the pumpkin.  The took a strip of brown and rolled it up and cut into it to make the stem jaggy.  Tied some Divine Twine in Green Apple around it and TaDa . . . a cute Thanksgiving card!

Oh Christmas Tea . . . Cute Tea bag card!

Oh Christmas Tea . . .

This card was designed to slip a little "tea" into the inside!
Hunter card stock for the base, DCWV Christmas paper stack from my stash for printed paper which is darling!

I used the Nested Pine Trees by Spellbinders, I cut 4 and then glued them back to back.  This card and be mailed as it will flatten out.
I used Divine Twine with some Gathered Twig Distress Ink to darken it up and made an X across the
Labels 8 Spellbiners Die cut for under the pine tree.
The scallop circle is an EK Success punch as well as the 1 1/2" circle, the tree was stamped in Library Green Archival ink with an Epiphany Crafts Round 25 bubble on top!
The stamp set is Christmas Baking Treats from A Jillian Vance Design found HERE
Not just for baking!!!
The star is an Epiphany Crafts done on white paper with Mustard Seed Distress ink to make it glow!

Triple Monograms, Swirly Monograms and Die's, OH MY!

Triple Monograms, Swirly Monograms and Die's, OH MY!
This week A Jillian Vance Design is featuring the Triple Monograms, Old Script Alphabet that comes in the double set and Swirly Monograms.  These sets were what sparked the relationship between AJVD and Spellbinders!  We had called about a custom die, the next week at CHA we got to meet Stacey Caron and her  team and in 2012 we will be a Preferred Partner Company with Spellbinders.
So here are just a few of my creations with all of these sets found HERE!
Swirly Monograms with Labels Three Spellbinders Dies.

Here you can see I used an Epiphany Crafts Round 25 over the initial.

This is the Triple Monograms using my husband's initial first, our last name in the middle and my name on the right.  It was cut with Labels Twenty One dies by Spellbinders.
I used the same set up as above for my anniversary card to my hubby, Sam or better known as Jillian's Dad!  We decided at CHA, we didn't have names other than Jillian's Mom and Jillian's Dad ~ and we love it that way!  I also used Happy Anniversary Stamp set for the sentiment.

Triple Monograms with Old Script Alphabet and Swirly Monograms have so many possibilities!  Not just for initials!
Here is a new twist for the Triple Monogram set.  I used the small snowman from the Holiday Treats Stamp set found HERE and the center snowman circle from the Winter Wishes Stamp set found HERE.  I stamped them in Jet Black Archival and the Frame in French
Ultramarine.  I used the Spellbinders Labels 8 to make the card and layer.

Thanks for stopping by I would love for you to follow my blog, leave a comment and "like" AJVD on Facebook!

Swirly Monograms Stamp set found HERE, for $16.95

Triple Monograms and Old Script Alphabet are a Double stamp set  for $29.95 found HERE

Pray for a Cure Bracelet

Pray for a Cure Bracelet
I saw this on my friend, Misty's Facebook page so kind of scrap lifted it!
It is a new use for A Jillian Vance Design Pear Pins found HERE.
You start out with 12 AJVD Pear Pins, 5 or 6 charms and ribbon of your choice.  Here I used AJVD Pray for a Cure Charming Jilly Charms and Rinkle Ribbon.
I tied the Rinkle Ribbon onto the Charm and the pinned thru the ribbon and link on the Charm.

I added glass seed beads to the pear pins that are connecting the ones with Charms on them.
You can see the charms and seed beaded pins connected together.
This is what it looks like on . . .
Close up of Pear Pins with charms and seed beads.

You can  use any charms and ribbon, you can also add a Prima flower on the ones that have seed beads, that is how the bracelet that Misty did was but we couldn't find those little flowers.

Thanks for stopping by today, go to http://www.ajillianvancedesign.com/Pear-Pins.html order your Pear Pins in either Black, Silver or Antique Brass and make your own Charm bracelet today!

Home Spun Christmas

 Home Spun Christmas Card

For some reason I LOVE this card!!!
Just the calmness of the muted colors, I guess.
Jillian said it reminds her of Hot Chocolate!

This paper is from an old DCWV stack. I saw it and decided that this was my theme as I wanted to use the New Tim Holtz Fall Seasonal Ink in Gathered Twig ~ the 3 pack is still available on our site in limited quantities HERE!

So I used dark brown for the base, cut the brown/kraft gingham then a layer of the kraft and cream snowflake print.  I stamped the sentiment "Snowmen fall from Heaven .  . . unassembled" in Coffee Archival Ink, then distressed it with the Tim Holtz Fall Seasonal Ink in Gathered Twig on white card stock.

I also used white card stock, Gathered Twig to distress and Coffee Archival Ink, for the "Wishing you Snow many Blessings" sentiment.

I then pulled our my kraft paper and used the new Type Star Font designed just for the Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio Star 25 Tool
Then Alphabet will fit perfectly in the center of the star and includes both upper and lower case letters,  numbers and some symbols in addition to 4 star shapes found HERE.
I used the JOY to make the banner above the "dirty" snowman!  I used Brown Sugar Divine Twine, inked with Gathered Twig to give it a more rustic look. and attached it with brads.

Please leave me a comment ~ I love to hear from you!

I am my Hair Stamp Set week ~ October 7th, 2011

I am my Hair Stamp Set week ~ October 7th, 2011
For my project, I have used one of my favorite stamp sets from A Jillian Vance Design called "I am my Hair" available  here.
She is my favorite thing for two reasons, she is part of my salon Logo and one of Jillian's newer stamp sets with images!  Just a got to love her ~ very classy lady!
I inked the tag using Tim Holtz Distress Inks Crushed Olive, Worn Lipstick and Faded Jeans, then stamped the Bunny Girl and sentiment in Library Green Archival Ink.  For the stitching at the top ( because my favorite craft was sewing all my life!!!) I used the one of Jillian's new stamps from "More Stitches" found here.  I used the Crushed Olive for the stitches.  So here is my project at that point.

Cute but kind of plain with no "pop" to it!  So then I added this:
the little Kraft flower inked in Worn Lipstick and Faded Jeans with a dab of Gold Adirondack Dabber used on it and a tiny button brad and the hand dyed ribbon with Crushed Olive, Worn Lipstick and Faded Jeans all mushed together with Perfect Pearls Mist in Perfect Pearls (another favorite of mine) tied at the top.  Then the Pear Pin in Black from A Jillian Vance Design, you can order them here.  And a little Black Bling from our stash!

Then it still needed something so I added some more hand dyed ribbon behind the flower and sprayed Perfect Pearls Mist in Sparkling Sunflower to finish it off perfectly!

I am my Hair with Guest Designer Wendy Vecchi

We are so honored and delighted  here at
A Jillian Vance Design to have
Wendy Vecchi
as a Guest Designer!
We met Wendy at the Great Lakes Mega Meet (a big scrapbook show in Michigan) at the Stampers Anonymous Booth.  Mom and I were kind of stalkers of hers!  We would shop a bit then go back and watch her "get inky" ~ for two days we did that!!!  Little did we know who she really was:  artist/designer/owner studio 490 AND Ranger Senior Educator!!!  She was so good to us and very patient teaching us new techniques.  She is the one who taught us to distress the tags with Tim Holtz Distress Inks you see me do so much of! She also taught us about the different kinds of inks and got us hooked on Archival and Adirondack Snow Cap.   Signed our tag for us and added her email address offering any ink assistance we needed.
After my mom emailed back and fourth with questions when we got home, she saw my mom's salon logo in her email and asked "why don't you make that a stamp ~ it would be really fun!"  And so I am my Hair was born!  Thanks to Wendy!!!
We then saw her again at CHA and gave her the set to have fun with, since she has her own stamp line and is affiliated with Ranger and a good friend of Tim Holtz's, we are just thrilled she took the time out of her busy life for us ~ just little old US!!!  We can't thank Wendy enough for doing this card for us!!!
Please visit her blog, give her some love and check out her amazing creations!!!

She is stamped with jet black archival over a textured background. I used Claudine's gesso on a Ranger manila tag to create that.

I masked her off & stamped my background, using coffee archival, then die cut her with tim's die.

Her face was inked with brushed corduroy distress ink & I used broken china on the background.

It's edged with a gold paint dabber, mounted over a gingham border stamp (my background) & then mounted onto black cardstock, then kraft.

I added a few gold gems to accent her hair & the corners.

Have a good HAIR week!

Introducing Holiday Treats Stamp Set

Boy I wish we would have had these sooner!  When Jillian was little I always helped out in the classroom, we sure could have used this set!  Or when I wasn't self-employed, the gals at the office sure would have enjoyed them!
Well here they are holiday Treats ~ use them on your tags, treat bags or or even jar labels fill with your favorite treats!  This stamp set can be pre-ordered HERE.  Projected shipping is Mid ~ October.
This set includes a variety of cute sentiments suitable for the office, classroom and hostess gifts.

  • Reindeer Poop for that Chocolate Covered Peanut or Raisin lover.
  • Snowman Poop for those little marshmallows or Yogurt covered Raisins.
  • M & M's for a Merry and Most Wonderful Holiday.
  • Candle or tea lights to make your Christmas and New Year Bright!
  • Nuts to munch on when the season gets nutty!

For this bag I used the Spellbinders Labels One die set ~ love this shape!  Then I stamped on the sentiment on to the die cut.  I then stamped the circle sentiment and snowman on white paper and punched with a 1 1/2 inch circle punch. I added the Blue Gingham scalloped circle which is an EK success punch also.

For this bag I used the Spellbinders Labels One die set ~ can you tell it is my favorite one!  Then stamped one of the Spellbinders Grommet Tags with the sentiment, added a few leaves punched from a Martha Steward punch and TaDa ~ a nice treat bag to give your Thanksgiving Hostess!  Or use them as Place Cards with the names on the back!
For this bag For this bag I used the Spellbinders Labels One die set AGAIN!
Then I used the smaller one to make the label in White for the sentiment, then the M & Ms were done from the same stamp set and I used the Epiphany Crafts Round 14 available HERE to give the 3D look.  Then topped it off with some Divine Twine and a Pear Pin from A Jillian Vance Design available HERE and some seed beads for some Christmas Bling!
Please excuse the "Harvest" M & M's that is all Target had!!!

The is the Reindeer Poop treat bag filled with what else ~ Reindeer droppings!!!  My favorite Brachs Chocolate Covered Raisins!
This is also the Spellbinders Labels One die set AGAIN!  It is so nice for those 3 x 4 inch bags from Hobby Lobby in the Jewelry Department.
This paper I got today and it perfect for this little treat!  It is Teresa Colors Christmas Home Collection.
I then stamped the circle onto white card stock and the Reindeer gal on to a separate piece so I could use the Epiphany Crafts Round 25 to give her a 3D look!  Then I used the EK success Scallop Circle to complete the treat bag topper.  Then I cut a strip of the paper to go around the bag, used Scotch reusable/removable strips to see it around the goodies
The tag is a Scallop Square punch.

That is all the treats for now!
Blessings,
Bunny

Link up for Pink with Celeste, Gaby and Yolie!

Visit http://www.justyolie.com/p/link-up-for-pink.html to Link Up for Pink too!!
Here is my card I did using my new Ink Pink Collection Pray for a Cure Stamp Set.

Where Flowers Bloom, so does Hope Card
For this card I used a black card stock base cut to an A2 size.  I then layered the Breast Cancer paper from Me and My Big Ideas Breast Cancer stack I got at Michaels.  The ribbon was an SVG file I cut with Make the Cut and embossed with the mini heart dot Cuttlebug folder.
I then cut out from the Mother's Day Bouquet cartridge 2 of the same flowers in white just 1/2inch smaller than each other and one for the middle out of a different paper from the same M&MBI stack.
Then I used an Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio tool to make my flower button, added Pink Divine Twine and the Pear Pin by A Jillian Vance Design which can be purchased HERE.  On the Pear Pin I added seed beads in pink and pearl to give it an extra soft appearance.
The banner is a Spellbinders Ribbon Banners die.  I stamped it in Archival Jet Black Ink using the Flower Power Stamp set by  A Jillian Vance Design which can be purchased HERE.

I hope you like my card, please leave me a comment!
Blessings,
Bunny
