Not so Freaky Friday Petal Card

Welcome to the last Freaky Friday of September for A Jillian Vance Design.  Join us next week for a new theme and cute projects using some new stamp sets!

 Ok, so when I saw this card I had to try it!
I found it on Split Coast Stampers.

 I used Eye on Halloween Stamp set for the Trick or Treat circle and Tiny Dots Background Stamp Set for the Hand Made by stamp found HERE.

 So you start with four beaded circles cut from the Spellbinders Beaded Circle die.  Then you cut two circles from the Standard Circles die and cut those in half.  Then to assemble, watch the video to get exact placement. Beate does a wonderful job explaining!

Tutorial on Split Coast Stampers – Petal Card September 7th, 2011 post.

The paper I used was black card stock, Echo Park Paper The Apothecary Emporium 6 x 6 paper pad.

This photo shows how you fold opposite sides in to form the front of the card before sliding on the band.

This shows the back of the card and how the Beaded Circles interlock.

To make the band have a design, I used the Sizzix Ink-its Letterpress Plate that we got at CHA, I inked it with Adirondack Snow Cap ink then ran it thru the Cuttlebug.

Handmade stamp comes with the Tiny Dots Background Stamp set found HERE.

Thanks for checking it out today and joining us for a fun month of projects, stop by next week for a new set of projects using I am my Hair stamp set by A Jillian Vance Design!

Blessings,
Bunny

Witchy Wednesday with A Jillian Vance Design

Welcome to Witchy Wednesday with A Jillian Vance Design.  so this is the last Witchy Wednesday for September, this was not one of my assigned days to do this but got an inspirational thought and headed for the craft room!

I started with a 5 x 5 black card, then cut the Kraft paper 4 3/4" x 4 3/4" for the layer.  I used cream card stock for the moon which was cut from a Spellbinder Standard Circle Die then I used Crushed Olive Distress Ink to add the shadow to the moon, then adhered it to the card then cut off the extra  part of the circle.
I then stamped the tree from God's Art by A Jillian Vance Design found HERE, the pumpkin is also from God's Art as are the Owls in the tree all stamped in Jet Black Archival Ink.  They were stamped on cream card stock inked with Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink then put in the Epiphany Crafts Round 14 Tool with a bubble.

The Witch and Cat in addition to the sentiment and poem are also stamped in Jet Black Archival Ink and are from the Witchy Poo Stamp set found HERE.

I hope you enjoyed this card, please leave me a comment and become a follower!!!

Monster Monday with A Jillian Vance Design

Welcome to the last Monster Monday in September with A Jillian Vance Design.
For this card I used SVG Attic's darling Tent Cards SVG Collection found HERE.  It is so easy to cut and layer and I used the part that was cut out of the center as a frame base for the monster.
The Monster was cut from Mini Monsters Cricut Cartridge and the Vintage tag is punched from the McGill Vintage Tag punch.  The sentiment stamp is from the Spooky Stamp set found HERE.

Thankful Thursday with A Jillian Vance Design

Welcome back to Thankful Thursday with A Jillian Vance Design!
OK, not to pat myself on the back but I love this card!!!
We did similar cards last year in a round format with three leaves on a Chocolate brown background ~ the cards were ready made from Michaels.  And we did a similar tag for a make and take we did for a local scrapbook store.  So I thought why not put the two together!

The card is 6 x 6 made out of Kraft card stock.  the leaves were the leaf die and embossing folder combo to use in the Cuttlebug.  I just happened upon them at our Big Lots last year!!!  Love this die/folder!
The tag was cut at 4 inches using Preserves Cricut Cartridge.  The small leaves are from a Martha Stewart punch.   Harvest Blessings is from the Autumn Leaves Stamp set by A Jillian Vance Design found HERE.  The Autumn Leaves, Jesus Doesn't sentiment in the circle is also from that set and I used the Epiphany Crafts Round 25 bubble to give it dimension.  The orange and burgundy gingham ribbon is from Hobby Lobby.

Witchy Wednesday with A Jillian Vance Design

Hi, Welcome to another Witchy Wednesday!

For this card  I used the Witchy Poo Stamp set found HERE.
I used cream cardstock for my base, then black.  I layered a Spellbinder Large Label in orange cardstock then the smaller nesting one in plaid on top with the witch stamped on it in Archival Jet Black ink.  The Broom is from Paper Doll Dress Up, then I used Brown Sugar Divine Twine for the "broom" part.
The banner is another Spellbinder Die called Ribbon Banners and the sentiment is also from Witch Poo stamp set.

Freaky Friday with A Jillian Vance Design!

Welcome to the Freaky Friday Design Team Challenge with A Jillian Vance Design.

This little gift bag isn't very Freaky!  But it is soooo cute!!!  This was one of our projects in the McGill Paper Flowers Class at CHA.
If you ever have the chance to do this class, they are the nicest people to work with!
I had been eyeballing these punches for a while at Archivers but never purchased them, but after this class we own MANY!!!
This bag features the Lily flower, we used the Corednations in black with a purple core and sanded the flowers to give that worn look.  McGill's website has wonderful instructions for making any of the flowers they offer punches for.

The shapes were all precut for us except for the Labels 21 from Spellbinders with the Happy Hallo~scream sentiment which I cut at home.

The sentiment is from the Spooky Stamp set by A Jillian Vance Design found HERE.  The kit included all the ribbon and lace too, it was a totally FUN project!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Bunny from Bunny Runs with Scissors
I used the Spooky Stamp Set found here for the spider web and the sentiment.  The paper was printed from my digital paper stash on a 12 x 12 piece of white card stock.  Then I cut it in half and folded to make a 6 x 6 card.  I am loving these larger cards!  Then I cut the black cardstock and stamped the web and sentiment with Adirondack SnowCap ink.  The star paper was a die cut using the Spellbinders Large Labels die and the cute ghost is from Paper Dolls Dress up Cricut Cartridge.
Monster Mondays with A Jillian Vance Design!
Welcome to the Monster Monday Design Team Challenge with A Jillian Vance Design.
Well of course I HAD to use Mini Monsters!!! Which is one of my favorite Cricut Cartridges!
I cut the card at 5 1/2 inches in Lime green card stock.  Then my monster was also cut at 5 1/2 as I knew I wanted him to "hang" off the page.  Added googlie eyes instead of paper ones!
The Candy was cut from the same cartridge at 3 inches.  I used a large orange brad for the center of the bow and the Eye Ball stamp from Eye on Halloween Stamp set from A Jillian Vance Design found HERE!
I used the Epiphany Crafts Round 25 bubble to make the eye look realistic!  You can find that tool for sale on Jillian's web site HERE.
The sentiment is also from Eye on Halloween and is perfect for this card!
Divine twine in Black Licorice, Orange and Purple Plum was used as an accent at the fold of the card.
In Loving Memory ~ 9-11-01
Well today I was moved to make a card for 9-11, while trying not to read many papers this week and putting 9-11 in the back of my mind, I still "wanted" to watch the tributes.
Even though we knew no one that   perished that day, it is still very hard for me as the families that were impacted and what they are going through still to this day is totally unimaginable.    To think of just going through your daily routine to have such a tragedy impact you and your loved ones is just hard to believe.
It just seems like yesterday that we all went through this but Jillian was only 2 ~ she is now 12 and has never known not having security at the airports like we do now. I remember flying out and having my parents walk me to the gate and picking me up at the gate when I returned.
 What a different world we live in today.  I so remember that day ~ see the story at the end of this post if you would like to read it.
Now on to my card, which has a couple of wet spots from tears!
I used the Peace on Earth Christmas card base from SVG Cuts as the base of my card because this event affected the world!  I then took Divine Twine in Airmail as if to wrap around the world as there were 115 different nationalities among the casualties.  Then I used the Friday freebie from My Scrap Chick as the centerpiece of the card.  The stamp "In Loving Memory" is from Let Freedom Ring by A Jillian Vance Design.
May God Bless America and the World, today and always.
Blessings,
Bunny
Please leave a comment, I love to hear from you!
Where I was when the World Stopped Turning:
My daughter was just 2 at the time, I remember getting up and just coming
downstairs as the first plane had hit. My mom who always has the morning
news on called to tell us to turn on the TV and that a plane had hit the
WTC. I stupidly said "how could they not see it?" Not even thinking it was
an attack but an accident. As I turned on the TV, they were showing the
tower that was smoking, then while still on the phone, the second plane hit,
we both just broke into tears, not imagining what was happening. Being a
Tuesday I am not sure why I wasn't working but most of the day Jillian and I
just sat on the sofa watching and crying, she was too young to understand
really what was happening but she knew it was tragic. I remember seeing the
Today show with Matt and Katie with the Pentagon in the background, and then
seeing smoke rising when they had no idea what had just happened and
watching that unfold was just unbelievable too.
It is funny to think she has always known this type of security that we have
now, I remember flying out places where my parents walked me to the gate
after never having a security check point. Just so sad. Our family had
decided in early 2001 we would all take a cruise, my parents and hubby,
daughter and I. We planned and also had it all paid for, we were to leave
September 9, 2001. My father who you can talk into anything, in about May
said, "you know you guys go without me, I am not going." He said he
couldn't tell us why but also said, I do not want to be away from home at
that time, he said just doesn't feel right. So we got a total refund and
spent it on a Rainbow Play System for our back yard which is still a hit
today 10 years later when Jillian's friends come over to play and swim.
Well when September 9th came we of course gave Dad a bad time of we could be
going on a cruise and such, then when all this happened on 9/11, we thanked
God for giving Dad intuition to keep us home and safe. Had we gone on that
cruise, we would have not been able to fly home for almost a week after plus
wouldn't have really know what was going on I remember them saying that
cruise ships could have been targets also. Just so sad to think about all
those that lost the innocent lives. May God bless the families who lost,
the heroes who gave their lives and the ones suffering from helping. The
USA will never be the same.
My daughter watched a video this whole week at school of real audio of that
day and reenactments of the events on Discovery Channel, when she would tell
me in the car on the way home about it, I would just started crying. Not
sure how Sunday will be for me, as I did not personally know anyone who was
lost that day but it still affects us all.
Thankful Thursdays with A Jillian Vance Design
Hi,
This is Design Team Thankful Thursday Challenge with A Jillian Vance Designs!
For this card I just wanted simple elegance!  I used cream card stock for the base of the card and also for the background of the sentiment which I used Spellbinders Grommet Tags die and stamped it with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Peeled Paint.  I used 3D dots on the back to accent the tag. The stamp is from Autumn Leaves found HERE by A Jillian Vance Design.
I then used Spellbinders Curved Rectangles for the Light Sage papers and stamped ~ also in Peeled Paint ~  the largest one with the leaves corner from the same stamp set: Autumn Leaves found HERE by A Jillian Vance Design.
I used two bronze brads to finish off my simply elegant card!
Witchy Wednesday with A Jillian Vance Design
Hi, Welcome to the Witchy Wednesday Challenge for the Design Team at A Jillian Vance Design.
So for my Witchy project I did a card on the Gypsy ~ I hadn't used it for quite some time!
For my Witch Hat card, I used Happy Haunting Cricut Cartridge and welded the hat at the point and was cut at 5 inches out of Kraft paper then distressed with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Black Soot.
I then used A Jillian Vance Design Tiny Dots Background stamp set found HERE to stamp the brim of the hat.
The band is a Martha Stewart Spiderweb punch.  The sentiment Witching you a Happy Birthday is from Witchy Poo stamp set found HERE.
I used the Mother's Day Bouquet Cricut Cartridge to cut the flower at 2, 1 3/4 and 1 1/2 inches and used the Epiphany Crafts Button Studio Round 20 and the Round 20 Button with black licorice Divine Twine bow.
I also used black licorice Divine Twine for the spider web coming down from the peak of the hat and stamped it with the spider from A Jillian Vance Design's Spooky stamp set found HERE.  I stamped it on Kraft paper and then used the Epiphany Crafts Round 25 bubble over it.
